For my first engagement session, I was blessed with working with a long-time best friend. I've known Sophie since middle school, where we both played in the school band. We've watched each other grow up, and she was there for me when I said "I do" two years ago. But when Sophie first told me about "this cute guy she met at volleyball," I knew she had found the one!
They complement each other perfectly. They're both athletic and running was actually involved in his proposal. On the morning of September 11th, Jordan was running a marathon. He ran the whole thing with a ring in his pocket, and at the finish line, got down on one knee. And the rest is history!
The engagement session with these two was so much fun! While you might not guess it from Jordan's short sleeves in the pictures, it was the coldest day of October. And not only was it cold, but very windy too! That morning as we were driving towards Harrisburg there were so many clouds that I thought the sun would never make an appearance. But as soon as we got to our first stop, the clouds opened up and it looked like a beautiful day (though was still very cold and windy!). We started our day at Hauser Winery near Gettysburg, PA. We got there nice and early to enjoy the views before anyone else. And the views were amazing!
One thing I really dislike in a photoshoot is feeling too posed. And naturally, they were nervous about having to pose; this was the first photoshoot they had ever done together. So the first thing I told them was to be themselves! After that, the shots were effortless, and they were naturals in front of the camera. One of my greatest passions is capturing the love through the lens, and they made my job easy!
After Hauser, we headed to their wedding venue, but on the way stopped through the Pennsylvania capital, Harrisburg. Harrisburg is such a big part of their life. They not only hang out there, but enjoy running through the parks and bridges and grabbing a drink or two at a local microbrew. It was a natural choice for picture taking. We started at City Island, where they have an entire running path mapped out that they do together. This park had the coolest bridges, which was backdrop to some of our shots.
After the park, we headed to grab a bite to eat at a microbrew, but couldn't resist this magical shot right outside the bar!
Next stop was their wedding venue; The Vineyard at Hershey. The day had been so fun already, but seeing the place where these two would celebrate as husband and wife made it even more enjoyable. Before pictures, we sampled some wine and then headed outside to shoot some more pictures. Just when I thought I had gotten the best shots already, there was more to come!
Last stop was another brewery near by, where we enjoyed a celebration dinner before our car ride back to New Jersey. Couldn't resist the final shots though!
So happy to celebrate the love these two share! They're currently working on all the details for their July wedding. Wishing them a life of love and memories! Thanks for having me be apart of this special time in your lives!
