chasing the dream
We all have a dream. We all have the picture-perfect image of what we want our life to become. Sometimes, these dreams start as children. Other times, they grow as we grow in ourselves. I believe we all have a purpose in this life, and finding it is the true meaning. So what is your dream?
Mine has always been to pursue photography. As a kid, I was always so interested in pictures (but not being the subject necessarily). I had polaroid cameras when I was just a child and I would run around playing "photographer." When I was around 12 years old, I was given my first "actual" camera. I would take it with me to horse shows and photograph everyone riding horses. I even made my own "business": Picture Perfect. When I got closer to high school, I continued with this passion; taking photography courses and trying to learn how to compose a shot. My favorite subjects were horses and riders; I had grown up at a horse farm and it's where I felt like home. Once I graduated high school, I became even more serious in photography. I started college taking photography courses and really started to develop my eye. I loved taking pictures of nature and showing everyone what our eyes tend to miss with our beautiful surroundings.
And then I graduated college and started "real life." This is when, I'm sad to say, I stopped chasing my dream. I was busy all the time. I went from creating my own schedule to commuting 2 hours each day on top of an 8 hour work day. I had no more time to pursue what I loved, so I took a break.
But now, I'm chasing my dream.
With that said, welcome to ashley kelly photography! This has been years in the making, and I'm so happy that it's all finally falling into place. My goal with this business is to help photograph your natural personality. Too many times, I've been the subject in a picture and I feel so awkward. I don't know, nor trust, the photographer, and I have no idea what to do with my hands! That's the exact opposite of the experience I want to have with you. Photoshoots should be fun, relaxed, and above all else, natural. Before any photoshoot, I will get to know you. I want to know what special traits you have so I can make sure they are captured. In my opinion, no two photoshoots should be the same because no two people are the same. It's all about personalization.
If this sounds like what you're looking for, please contact me and we can schedule a photoshoot!
